Richard L. Fletcher has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 1991. He currently serves as senior vice president at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, where he previously served as vice president for advancement for 25 years. Mr. Fletcher is a former Eliza Jennings Board chair, and is currently a member of the Development and Long Range Planning Committees. He earned a bachelor’s degree, and MBA from Baldwin Wallace University.
Alayne Fodor-Gopalakrishna, was appointed to the Board in July 2010. She currently serves as vice president of operations of Fairview Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Ms. Fodor’s affiliations include the American College of Healthcare Executives, and Westlake Porter Public Library Board of Trustees serving on the Board Operations and the Board Finance Committees. She currently serves on Eliza Jennings’ Finance Committee. Ms. Fodor earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in business management and economics from Baldwin Wallace University, and an MBA with a concentration in health care management from Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management.
Carol Hall has served as a Trustee since 1990. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Lakewood Hospital Foundation, the Cleveland Zoological Society and the Women’s Committee of the Cleveland Orchestra. Mrs. Hall currently serves on the Development Committee.
Deborah Lewis Hiller was appointed to the Eliza Jennings Board of Trustees in 1983 and was elected president and CEO in 1993. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Public Policy Congress for LeadingAge, the trade association for not-for-profit aging services organizations, and is a Trustee at Southwest General Health Center where she serves on the professional affairs/quality assurance committee. Ms. Hiller is a graduate of the 1998 Class of Leadership Cleveland. In 2002, she was named by Northern Ohio Live magazine as the “Top Rainmaker in Healthcare.” Ms. Hiller graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She previously chaired the antitrust and trade regulation practice at Calfee, Halter & Griswold and chaired the Board of Governors of the Antitrust Section of the Ohio State Bar Association.
John E. Hunger, CPA, has served on the Board since 1994. Mr. Hunger formerly was associated with Coopers & Lybrand, and is the current treasurer and chief financial officer of World Shipping, Inc., an international marine transportation services company. Mr. Hunger is a former chair of Eliza Jennings’ Board, and also served as chair of the Long Range Planning and Finance Committees. A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, Mr. Hunger currently sits on the Finance Committee.
Glenn S. Krassen joined the Board of Trustees in March 2013. Mr. Krassen is partner in charge of the Bricker & Eckler LLP Cleveland office. He is partner in charge of the firm’s shale, oil and gas practice group and has more than 32 years of energy law experience. Mr. Krassen regularly represents public and private entities nationally on complex energy finance, procurement and contracting issues. He is a member and former vice president of the board of trustees of HELP Foundation, Inc. and previously served as president of the Shaker Heights Public Library board of trustees. Mr. Krassen is a member of the American Bar Association; Ohio State Bar Association; (former chairman of the Natural Resources Committee; current member of the Public Utilities Committee); and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Mr. Krassen is also an adjunct professor at the Cleveland Marshall College of Law. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America 2003-2013, and Best Lawyers in Cleveland 2009-2012. Mr. Krassen is a published author and is ranked as a top-rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell for achieving AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from George Washington University, Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Krassen serves on the Development Committee.
Gerrit C. Kuechle has served on the Board since 1997. He is the president of National Associates, Inc., and has practiced as an actuary for 30 years, consulting with organizations of all sizes. He has lectured and taught continuing education courses and is an enrolled actuary and member of the American Academy of Actuaries, as well as the American Society of Pension Actuaries. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Beloit College and a Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland State University Law School. He is a member of the Ohio Bar and The American Bar Association. Mr. Kuechle previously served as Board chair and currently serves on the Finance Committee.
Paul D. McGrady Jr. is a former director of legal affairs for Eliza Jennings and joined the Board in 2011. He is a partner in Winston & Strawn’s Chicago office and chair of the firm’s trademark, domain names, and brand enforcement practice. Mr. McGrady is the author of McGrady on Domain Names, the definitive treatise on domain name law, and McGrady on Social Media. McGrady serves as adjunct professor of law at DePaul University College of Law, and is a frequent lecturer on Internet-related aspects of intellectual property. Mr. McGrady received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from Cedarville University, and a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University School of Law. He serves on Eliza Jennings’ Development Committee.
Nancy Oatey McMillan was elected to the Board in 2003. She was formerly employed at Lakewood Hospital in the Senior Care Department, where she directed the Forever Fit Program. Ms. McMillan is active in the Lakewood Garden Club. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health Education K-12 from Muskingum College. Ms. McMillan currently serves as Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer for the Board, and chairs the Development Committee.
Paulette K. McMonagle has served on the Board since 1998. She served as assistant director of the Lakewood Department of Human Services Division of Aging until she retired in 2009 with more than 27 years of experience working with older adults. Ms. McMonagle holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Xavier College in Chicago and a master’s degree from Cleveland State University, with a major in Sociology with emphasis in Geriatric Sociology. Ms. McMonagle served as Board chair from 2005-2007, and currently chairs the Quality Assessment Committee.
Phyllis F. Nacey has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 1986. She has also served on the board of trustees for Lorain County Community College Foundation and chaired the board of EMH Regional Healthcare System Foundation. Mrs. Nacey attended the University of Wisconsin. She resides at Eliza Jennings Retirement Campus at The Renaissance. She currently serves on the Development and Quality Assessment Committees.
Katie Ramella was elected to the Board of Trustees in 1999 and most recently served as Board chair. Prior to joining the Board, she served several years on the Junior Board of The Eliza Jennings Home. Ms. Ramella is a graduate of Marymount College of Virginia. She currently serves on the Long Range Planning and Quality Assessment Committees.
Patricia M. Scanlon was elected to the Board in 2004. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Notre Dame Law School, Ms. Scanlon currently serves as Treasurer of the Board and chairs the Finance Committee.
Susan O. Scheutzow is a partner in the Cleveland law firm, Kohrman, Jackson & Krantz, PLL, where she chairs the firm’s healthcare group. Previous to joining the firm in 2010, she served as vice president and general counsel of Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights, OH, where she also served as the hospital’s privacy officer and chief compliance officer. Ms. Scheutzow is an adjunct faculty member at Baldwin Wallace University teaching courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Recognized as one of the top attorneys in Ohio and in the nation, Scheutzow has authored numerous publications, including Ohio Health Care Provider Law, which is used by health law attorneys across the state. She currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board and is a member of the Long Range Planning and Quality Assessment Committees.
Terrie Tenk Shrock has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 1991. She is Vice President of Tenk Holdings, Inc., and a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs. A former Board chair, Ms. Shrock currently chairs the Long Range Planning Committee and serves on the Finance Committee. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and a Masters of Accountancy degree from Bowling Green State University.
Barrie Briggs Spang was appointed to the Board in 2008 and is an Interior Designer with Lee Meier Interiors. She currently also serves on the Board of H.E.L.P. Children and on the Alumni Board of her college, Lake Forest College, where she co-chairs the Regional Network for Cleveland. She most recently graduated from Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2013. Ms. Spang earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history and sociology from Lake Forest College and studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She currently serves as Secretary of the Board, and serves on the Development and Quality Assessment Committees.
Rick J. Weigle, Jr. was appointed to the Eliza Jennings Board in 2008 and currently serves as Board chair. He is also a member of the Finance and Long Range Planning Committees. He is director of client experience, senior vice president for Key Private Bank and has 30 years of financial services industry experience. His previous board and community volunteer experience include Ronald McDonald House, United Way, YMCA of Greater Cleveland, St. Ladislas Church and the May Dugan Center. Mr. Weigle has a Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College and has pursued graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University.
Margaret G. Weitzel was appointed to the Board in 2010 and serves on the Finance and Long Range Planning Committees. She is executive vice president and partner for Wyse Advertising, Inc. and serves as secretary on their board of directors. Ms. Weitzel currently serves as immediate past chair on the board of Recovery Resources; chair of the board for Beck Center for the Arts; and treasurer, women’s committee executive board, for Cleveland Institute of Music. She has been affiliated with numerous not-for-profit and community service organizations. Ms. Weitzel attended Cleveland State University, and graduated with a marketing degree from Dyke College.
