(Rich BoysonCleveland, Ohio) – Eliza Jennings, a nationally recognized and trusted expert in aging services, has appointed Richard M. Boyson Jr. as its new President and Chief Executive Officer effective May 18, 2015. Boyson succeeds the late Deborah Lewis Hiller, who served the organization as board member and executive officer for more than three decades.

Boyson previously served Eliza Jennings for six years as director of financial operations, from 1996 to 2002. He also held the position of chief financial officer for Therapy Partners, a venture of the Eliza Jennings Group, and helped the company expand into 18 states.

“Rich’s strong understanding of the aging services industry and Eliza Jennings’ mission will support the expansion of innovative services to improve the quality of life for older adults,” said Richard J. Weigle Jr., chair of Eliza Jennings board of trustees. “Rich’s accomplishments reflect his expertise in financial management, leadership development, strategic planning, and the development of new lines of business.”

Boyson has 22 years of experience, with 18 years in the long-term care industry. His expertise spans the full spectrum of aging services, including multi-site organizations offering residential care and services, therapy, home health care, hospice, and community-based services. Under Boyson’s leadership, organizations have experienced significant growth, increased revenue and profit margins, and improved resident and employee satisfaction.

Prior to rejoining Eliza Jennings, Boyson held the position of president of Senior Independence, a Columbus-based provider of home and community-based services and subsidiary of Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services serving 41 of Ohio’s 88 counties. He also served as chief financial officer and interim CEO for Laurel Lake Retirement Community.

Boyson graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Kent State University. He is a CPA and member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Public Accountants. Boyson serves on the boards of Humility of Mary Housing Inc., a transitional and senior housing provider, and Laurel Lake Retirement Community. He is a member of LeadingAge Ohio, the statewide advocacy organization for not-for-profit aging services providers, and Ohio Health Care.
