Jennifer Griveas, Esq., LNHA, CEHCH, CEAL, CHC, plays a pivotal role in safeguarding Eliza Jennings' legal interests through her expert counsel on a spectrum of legal matters encompassing staff, communities, and programs. As an integral member of the senior management team, Ms. Griveas contributes to the establishment and execution of strategic objectives from a legal vantage point. Notably, her role extends beyond providing legal guidance, as she possesses a profound comprehension of the business implications inherent in legal decisions. In her capacity as Chief Legal Officer, Ms. Griveas also assumes oversight of the organization's compliance and risk management functions, underscoring her commitment to maintaining an environment of ethical and legal integrity.

Ms. Griveas brings a background in litigation and employment counseling for both corporate and nonprofit clients. She began at Eliza Jennings in 2011, following her tenure at Frantz Ward LLP, where she practiced in the firm’s labor and employment and litigation groups. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Kent State University.

Ms. Griveas also has extensive training and proficiency with long-term care regulations and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, a Certified Executive in Home Health & Hospice, a Certified Executive in Assisted Living, and is certified in Health Care Compliance by the Health Care Compliance Certification Board.

She is a member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, as well as the American Health Lawyers, and the Health Care Compliance Association. She was a member of the 2012 class of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Leadership Academy. Ms. Griveas participates as a new lawyer mentor in the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Lawyer to Lawyer mentoring program, and also mentors law students through Cleveland-Marshall College of Law’s Externship Program. She is a member of LeadingAge Ohio, the state-wide organization for not-for-profit aging services providers.

Ms. Griveas is a recipient of the First Chair Association’s Top General Counsel Award, a two-time recipient of the First Chair Rising Star Award and was recognized in 2013 by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Women Honoring Women Award. She was awarded a Crain’s Cleveland Business C-Suite award in 2017 for top nonprofit general counsel in Northeast Ohio. She also is a three-time Crain’s Cleveland Business General and In-house Counsel Awards finalist. She served as Executive Editor for Cleveland State Law Review and was the recipient of the Law Review’s 2003-2004 Executive Editor of the Year Award.
