Eliza Jennings at Home Awarded Re-Accreditation from The Joint Commission

(Olmsted Township, Ohio) – Eliza Jennings, a nationally recognized not-for-profit leader in aging services, has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Home Care Accreditation. Eliza Jennings at Home earned this distinction by demonstrating continuous compliance with Joint Commission performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe, excellent, and quality patient care.

To earn re-accreditation, Eliza Jennings underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with home health standards spanning several areas including environment of patient care, infection prevention and control, emergency management, and rights and responsibilities of the individual. Additionally, the Joint Commission carefully reviewed agency policies and procedures to prevent and reduce the spread of COVID-19 among staff and clients in the community.

“Eliza Jennings is proud and honored to receive re-accreditation from The Joint Commission, a premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body,” said Eliza Jennings President and CEO Richard M. Boyson Jr. “Accreditation honors and validates the hard work and dedication of our staff in providing exceptional, compassionate care and outstanding services of the highest standards to the individuals we serve throughout the continuum of care.”

Eliza Jennings at Home works to meet all regulatory and accreditation requirements at all times, and as part of the preparation for the accreditation review process focuses additional attention on policy & procedure review, education for staff, and auditing and monitoring all quality improvement activities.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess, and improve performance.

“We commend Eliza Jennings at Home for its continuous quality improvement efforts in patient safety and quality of care,” said Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification Operations, and chief nursing executive, The Joint Commission. Patient safety and quality of care are at the forefront of Joint Commission standards and initiatives. Achieving accreditation makes a strong statement to the community about an organization’s efforts to provide the highest quality services.
