My nurse not only knows ostomy care, but also brings a can-do attitude, a positive and encouraging spirit, and a teaching ability that inspires the confidence a patient dealing with a new ostomy needs to make it through this unfamiliar and unique period. As a result, I have learned to perform my ostomy care independently. Due in large part to the extraordinary care I received from my nurses, I am healthy enough for ostomy reversal surgery.
